Message So year after year I'm in the market for tires. I've successfully managed to boil of a set of rear tires each year I drive the Z. Currently I've been through a set(s) of Bridgestone Potenza RE750s, Khumo 712s, Yokohama AVS-ES100s, and finally Avon Tech M550s. I know none of these tires besides the 750's are worth a crap really (coming in at under 150 a tire) but as with each new year comes a new tire.

I'm going to be placing an order through tirerack in the next few days regarding some new rear treads. I'm going to have to transport the Z to my buddy's garage which is heated, so I can do my clutch/flywheel install. I've noticed the tires on it now officially have cords showing.

This is a complete list of the tires under 150 listed on tirerack. Unless specified, all tires are sized 275/40/17

My goal is to have a "decent" tire. I know with ANY of these tires im not going to get any good traction in 1st and 2nd gear, its pretty much inevitable with 500rwhp on 93 octane. I go to the drag strip alot and thats what the E/T Streets are for, but these will mainly just be for cruising (I drive the EVO most of the time) and the occasional donut session.

I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughs and recommendations. Thanks

DO IT!
