Message tings...

After looking over the manual again, I see where everyone is getting confused. To review the manual, go here... (SAFC online manual)

Under the (etc.) setting menu, you have to set the sensor TYPE, which for us is "hot wire". This corresponds to option #1 in this menu. So, simply scroll up to 1. hot wire and enter that.

BUT, then when you are setting sensor CAL., you must refer to the tables for the KIND of hotwire we have in the Z's. This is found on page 31 of the manual. Under Fairlady Z, it states our sensor type is "HW-2" which means it is a type 2 hotwire. SO, for IN, you enter 2 (meaning that a type 2 hotwire signal is going into the AFC), and for OUT you also enter 2 (meaning that a type 2 hotwire signal is leaving the AFC and going to the ECU).

The confusion here is because under the sensor type menu, hotwire sensors are option #1, but that doesn't mean you enter "1" for the sensor cal. Again, you have to refer to the tables in order to find that.

OK, so this setting is for a single MAS Z, regardless if it's single pop or dual pop. Single MAS, single pop charger, you do NOT want to alter the kind of signal the ECU is seeing (this is what happens if you put In X, Out Y... to keep the kind of signal the same, it must be In X, Out X).

For dual pop charger, with single MAS, it's the same thing... you want to keep the signal the same. So, it must be In 2, Out 2. The JWT ECU does all the "doubling" for the MAS signal (since twice the amount of air is actually entering the engine than the MAS reads).

For a dual pop charger, with dual MAS, you want to have In 2, Out ADD (as it states specifically on page 25 of the manual).

So, once again...

a)single pop charger, single MAS = In 2, Out 2, Sensor type 1
b)dual pop charger, single MAS, JWT ECU = In 2, Out 2, Sensor type 1
c)dual pop charger, dual MAS = In 2, Out ADD
