I haven't posted in about a week. I was finally able to take my car on the road to see how the Tein FLEXs with EDFC felt like and to make sure that everything worked properly.

I took it out approximately 3:30 a.m. so I wouldn't run into much traffic. My car is in pieces so I didn't want to have an encounter with the police. All I can say is, "Wow."

When I set it on the softest setting, "16" front and rear, the suspension is just as soft as the previous Eibach setup. The Tein's are smooth yet not bouncy like the OEM struts.

Next, I decided to take it on some back-road twisties between Lewisville and Denton. I set the EDFC unit to "4" in front and "6" in rear. With the Teins, the softness of the suspension increases as the sum of the setting increases, e.g., "16" is softer than "15".

Basically, the ride was great and the Z cornered like it was on rails. It must be noted I have added other items since driving it last. However, I could notice a huge difference from previous driving experiences. This account is coming from someone certainly not pushing their car to the limit.

Later on, i set the EDFC to "0" front and "0" rear. It was nice but a little too stiff. After my little cruise at 4 a.m., the main thing that I was really happy about was the ability to switch from a soft, smooth ride to a harsh ride with the push of a button. I could have everything dialed into "16" front and rear; but if I wanted to shatter the bones in my body and hug some corners, I could set the EDFC to "0" front and rear. It really is a great setup and I am very pleased. No one should dismiss the Teins as a good suspension upgrade due to the firmness of coil-overs. A smooth ride can be achieved with the Tein coil-overs.

I can't comment on other coil-overs, but at least I know the Teins can be set to either firm or soft.

While testing my new suspension, I ran into some into some complications. Four police officers approached me while I was filling the Z with gas. The officers stated they suspected the car was stolen due to my negligence. While operating the vehicle, I had expired plates, registration, and inspection.

I spoke to them calmly, unlike most idiots you see on a Dallas COPS episode. I explained to them I don't respect the Z and I am a repeat PETZ offender. They tolerated my sob story about how I was too busy spending time and money on my formerly beautiful Z to function like a responsible adult, i.e., keep my plates, registration, and inspection up to date.

To much of my generation's surprise, the police did not cite me due to my respectful demeanor. They even let me off with a warning for the PETZ violation. The officers were fascinated with my car and demanded my explanation for why I would modify such an already beautiful machine. I informed them of my decision to go against the grain of my uber-elite online form. They were also interested in the extensive changes I had made to increase the vehicle's performance. The cops, who all drive 1982 Camaro's, complimented my Z's cosmetic changed. The officers also asked about the power output and the wheels. They even took interest in my disassembled interior. While I was explaining the functions of the SAFC and EDFC in my glove box, one officer mumbled, "Amazing." I found this very comical yet cool.

Immature, irresponsible members on TwinTurbo.NET say they hate cops. Pssshhhht (blow-off valve sound added for emphasis of their stupidity). Cops are people, too. They are just doing their job. Moreover, even though I had no excuse for everything being expired on the car and should have received more than one citation, the cops taught me a lesson and I will never operate a vehicle illegally ever again. Thanks for reading and hope everyone had a great gobble day.
Thanks,
Mike

ed.'s note: Nice story, CollegeBoy. Hope you don't take offense to the minor editing changes I made.
