10,nnn messages since I last logged in. Different trip then usual, we had 16 go over from ZCOT instead of the smaller groups. We were a test group for open invitations to future conventions over there, so we did a 'package touristy' deal as an experiment. If it had been my first time over, it would have been really cool. It's my 4th so there was lots of repetition, but I took my new bride over for her first trip & she had a blast seeing the stuff I've been talking about! Still got to do some new stuff along the way too. Highlights for car stuff: Watched NISMO win a team Championship in Super GT @ Suzuka on Sunday. They were like 1.4 secs behind winning the entire thing in the #1 car. Visited NISMO Visited the Nissan Gallery & saw Nissan HQ (no reason to go in, Ghosen is back in France) Dinner with Norio Matsumura (former President of Nissan North America, now retired) Visited the Nissan design center Visited the Zama garage. HOLY CRAP, lots of pics! Got to sit in an R390 & a Mid-4!! Did the Japanese Z National convention, where we got to drive on the proving grounds oval in the slow lane (at like 60) while the #1 Super GT500 car we watched race the weekend before went by us a couple lanes over @ full throttle!! I think that covers it for now... I'll have a writeup done sometime (probably January w/ my workload). Glad to see everything is 'normal' around here... Time for jet lag!
