| for anyone who read my garage-door-projectile story (La-Z-Link) a month ago, here's the latest. received the paperwork from my landlord's insurance yesterday. apparently the adjuster ignored me and the estimator ignored me, as they neglected to replace my (stock, aluminum) hood with a new one of the same. instead, they billed about $250 to weld it back to normal, which is probably possible on a steel hood, which is the part i think they didn't listen to. i even had the estimator hold the open hood and see for himself. sigh... so now my body shop (who graciously offered to take on this battle) is duking it out with USAA (who, btw, i cannot after this recommend to anyone i even remotely like) and i expect another month to pass before i hear anything again. the garage door is still broken, too. i finally obtained my own estimates for repair this week, and also priced parts to repair it myself. i emailed all of this to my landlords (3 time zones away) and if i don't hear anything by the first week of december i might just fix it myself and take it out of my rent. helping my ghetto garage door open and close by hand every time is getting even less fun as the weather gets colder... and the one remaining tensioner spring has been giving my car the evil eye behind my back, i just know it... my Z's come a long way since our two-year anniversary together a couple weeks ago (La-Z-Link) but no matter how hard i try i just can't seem to keep her safe from the cruel world. :(
