Message parameters. His CAS must be at 15 degrees base timing. In the ECU's map, 17-20 degrees of timing advance is fine.

On 91 octane fuel, I pull the ignition timing down considerably to allow buffer against detonation.

Any time I refer to "timing", I am speaking in terms of the value in the map, which, if the base timing is calibrated to 15^, the values I speak about are the actual, real values that are occuring in the engine. I never recommend people to screw around with the CAS timing since it throws the entire map off.
