did you fix the clutch? a/c resolved w new coil? want a race fuel pump? I nvr dynoed her so I didnt know if fuel pressure was good or notJim :My life has been pretty hectic over the past month, with me switching jobs, but I still have found time for doing what I love. What I have done over the past few weeks: : : : :****** : 1. Initial try at tuning :Went to get my car tuned by Ash to find that I was having some fuel starvation on the top end. This was mainly due to a failing fuel pump and bad filter. : :****** :2. Fixing the Fuel :To fix the fuel issues, I installed an Aeromotive FPR, Edelbrock filter, and -6AN lines from summit racing. I also got a new OEM fuel pump and some other stock parts thanks to COZ. : : :I also added an Autometer FP gauge, which I mounted to the climate control pod using an Autometer carbon fiber cup. (Ignore the dirty interior) : :****** : :3. Lightening and Simplifying :I Removed a bunch of stock parts to reduce weight, and make things in the engine bay simpler. After all said and done I took 100 lbs out of the car. Before it weighed 3440 lbs, after it was 3340lbs using truck scale. :a. Removed the EGR system with motor in the car (don't recommend, it was a P.I.T.A) :b. Removed the AIV system :c. Removed the stock battery and replaced with a lightweight SLA one from a BMW motorcycle (bought at NAPA). :d. Removed the stock boost gauge, pcv, all the vaccuum tanks for clutch, and other little misc stuff. :e. Installed GReddy catch can : :****** : :4. Second try at tuning :I Took the car back Ash for tuning and made 492RWHP (19psi) on pump and 543RWHP (26psi) on race fuel. :RACE FUEL : :PUMP FUEL : : :****** : :5. Using the new found power and safe tune :I Took the car to the track and ran 11.34 with the added power and safe AFR. (On a sidenote, I ran the car probably a dozen times this summer running the JWT chip with the fuel issues. Luckily, I run nothing less than VP C16. I did not blowup because of its high motor octane which allows for a great margin of safety against detonation. The fastest pass I had before tuning was 11.58 @ 122mph) :a. Here is the video --- [ http://s89053294.onlinehome.us/video/Joel_1134.wmv ] :b. Here is the timeslip : :c. A screencapture of a burnout : :Big thanks go to Ash for helping me sort out some of the issues, thanks to Xotic motorsports for being patient on the dyno, thanks to Dee for organizing it all, and thanks to Coz and Summit Racing for the parts.
