| The fact that the sensor went bad as soon as you got the car back from them does not prove that they broke it. There is a 99.9% chance that it's their fault, but the court won't see it that way. Ignorant mechanics screw people over all the time, and they get away with it. It's very hard to prove that they screwed up. The only way around it is to DIY everything. I know it sucks, but going to court is a lose/lose. What if you lose and they counter-sue you for the legal fees? Realistically the only thing you can do is get really pissed and THREATEN a law suit. Tell them you will go to the BBB, etc. If you are lucky you will come to an agreement, they will probably give you free labor to replace the sensor and a free oil change. Good luck.
