The EVO9 will not make a huge difference on the EVO8s. The mivec on the 9 is harder to tune and so the EVO8 will hold its value because of the ease of tuning and appeal from people that want one at a reduced from new fee. As long as the market is there and people are willing to pay for a good quality used EVO it will remain #1 on re-sale value.
On the other hand the 350Z isn't holding its value quite as well. I used to own a 300ZX TT, I have seen many nice Zs sold for a fraction of what we the enthusiasts know that they are worth, including mine. You can sit here and blow smoke up my ass but in the end we all know that if you cannot find a buyer that is willing to pay what you think it is worth then it isn't worth that amount. I know that you are still in the frame of mind that the Z is the best thing since sliced bread but when you wake up it is nice to see what there is out there in the market now. You should see how many streetable EVOs are in the 10's thru 12's. Much more than the almighty TT Z, hell they are even running 7-9's not streetable anymore of course. You have 15 years on them and they have twice the number running better times. I am not trying to slam the Z because I was in your guys shoes. I used to try and convince my friends and myself that the Z was so wonderful but in the end it wasn't. I will say that the one thing that the Z could be the undefeated champ on is the old highway roll-on but that will send you straight to jail and you can't get sponsored by racing on the highway. Oops but then there is still the Supra which holds its value can make high HP reliably and does have all of the sponsorship. I am so glad that I sold my Z!
I just miss coming here and posting on this forum.
