sometimes a better 60' time actually decreases the 1/4 mile MPH. This is dependent on a few things and isn't always the case, but is a well known occurrence in drag racing. One example would be a car that has significant, excessive wheel spin but doesn't go anywhere. So when it finally gets traction, it actually has more track to develop MPH vs. the car that blows out of the gates and" eats up the track" early on and actually has less track to make MPH. Of course the opposite can happen, where a car slowly runs down the strip with tires spinning (or bogging), eating up track that could be used for acceleration. Then when mods are added and it gets adequate traction, the MPH goes up. This is also true with gearing changes, sometimes the ET drops and the MPH increases, and sometimes the ET drops and so does the MPH (which is kind of hard to understand and can leave you with A 'WTF", my car is slower.....it's quicker, as it is covering a certain ditance in less time but the terminal velocity can be less). FWIW, Mark
