I was hanging out w/ some 240 guys and one of them had a welded diff. I thought it was funny b/c it churped around turns and reminded me of a mack truck. But, regardless, are there any benefits to welding the diff? would it make the NA diff stronger? As in, those using the na diff in a TT application would be smart to have the diff welded together. I do not know what the interior of the diff looks like, but I would assume the 240 and 300zx diff's almost the same and so it can also be done.
