| lightness is relative, and it really is. Originally, we never defined and/or targeted weight's relation to acceleration. Hell, previous statements were about two cars being lighter and the other being a pig. I just added my comments about the state of lightness... then added how I think people start abusing use of the term/idea. To start, I'll answer your original off topic question: "Do you know how acceleration works?" Yes I agree that removing "some" weight is beneficial to performance. There is a point of weight removal I find silly, even with ultimate performance in mind. This doesn't even include a discussion of stripping certain "luxuries." It depends on what our measuring stick is defined as from this point forward, but there are other methods that can be used to make larger overall performance gains.... As I'm sure you know, there are a lot of compromises to consider with everything; removing weight to create relatively more lightness is no different.
