whole story? How do timing, a/f ratio, coolant temp, oil temp, ambient temp, ambient pressure, boost, turbo efficiency, plug gap, fuel quality, injector quality, etc, etc all interact? Rhetorical question, not looking for answers. I already know enough. Perhaps a safety factor is required to account for variation in all of these things? Maybe on that one particularly hot, dry day in which you get a marginal tank of fuel, and you've just turned the AC off after being in heavy traffic, and you decide to do a WOT run, maybe that's when the trouble occurs?
