1. A lot of practice 2. A real natural gift for the feel of your car or 3. Pure luck....to get a good (2.0 and below) 60' on street tires. If you plan on drag racing your car periodically, I think it would be a worthwhile investment to get a spare set of rear TT wheels and a set of drag radials for the strip. They range from the Niitto 555r (potentially good for 1.8s), BFG (potentially good for sub 1.7s), and the awesome Mickey Thompson Drag Radial (capable of sub 1.5s with the right set up). Before you decide, take stock of your clutch and it's potential holding power (Don't get tires that will overpower your clutch because of too much bite). The upside to using street tires is you aren't apt to break anything traction related, and it forces you to learn how to launch your car and get good at it, if you hang in there and practice. However, if you are shooting for low ETs, there is no way of doing it without a good 60'...take a look at Arnels' list and check out everybodies 60' times. You'll probably find a clear correlation between quick 60's and where they are on his list. Conversly, you'll see some real high MPHs and ETs that aren't consistent with them (meaning mediocre 60' times). Good luck, Mark
