| He said if I wanted to insure my 90TT for any more than the book value I would need to get it appraised. I found a classic car club in town and asked their officers who they use. They gave me their preferred appraiser's name and number. My agent said that even if I insured the car for around $20K it wouldn't cause too much of a jump over what I've got now - which is comp on both a 90TT and a 04 CR-V, both are paid for and we have no points/good credit (about $1200 a year on both cars currently). The Z is marked somehow in their system as "low mileage" and my wife is actually the 'primary driver' of the Z to drop the coverage a little (my agent's idea - not mine). I've asked about getting more discounts and he acknowledged a few, like LoJack, but said it wasn't worth the discount. He also mentioned that it would be "worth" the appraised value that day and every day after that would see some form of normal depreciation - ie, it won't be worth $20K forever. Sounded pretty reasonable to me. Once the current bit of work I'm doing is complete I may follow through and get the appraisal. Good luck.
