I was headed back from Arlington to Dallas in 1971 on the old Turnpike (I30) when I thought I saw what must of been a Ferrari pass going the other direction. By end of the day I had discovered the 240Z and was in love. Finally bought myself a 72 240Z in 1974 after graduating with my BSEE and paid $4000 for one with 40K miles. I drove it for another 100K miles and finally sold in 1984. By then, Zs were everywhere around DFW and I felt had gotten fat and stale. That all changed in 1990 driving down Beltline Road in Addison when I first saw Z32. It was deja vu and I became obsessed again. By then I had two kids and 2+2 was mandatory if I was going to have one. Remembering how bad the Z31 2+2's looked (IMHO), I was skeptical that those Z32 coupe lines that reawakened my soul would transfer to a 2+2 version. Nonetheless, at first chance, I stopped at WO Bankston on Preston one Sunday afternoon knowing they had one 2+2 on their lot. My heart raced when it actually took me what seemed to be several minutes to pick it out amongst the coupes! I then bought a 90 Z32 2+2 in July 91, traded up to a 95 2+2 in May 97, and then my current 95 Z32TT in Jan 2002. Looking back, Zs have been my DDs for 23 of the last 31 years! And BTW, the car I was driving when I bought that first 240Z ... a 1968 Datsun 1600!
