Message I know i'm definetly not the fastest NA this year, but i'm def. holding strong in second place. About a week ago last night, i went back down to Cecil County Dragway for some fun. Got another 7 runs in in just under 2 hours. For the $12 i paid, i was rather happy with it. My previous best was a 14.4-something, i honestly don't remember what, but i've been pushing second on Arnel's list since that time. I lost two of the random pairings i ended up with that night, neither of which really surprised me all that much. My first loss was my first run, where i bogged and ran a 14.8, and it was against a chevelle running an 11.9... yeah, i don't think i stood a chance... my other loss was against a civic hatch that i had seen 10 minutes earlier filling up on race gas.... and he only ran a 13.7...

I ran two 14.2's that night, the first one i realized how bad the clutch in my car is. For those of you who don't know, or who might research it later, the XTD 6 puck sprung clutch is junk. It's not worth the $200 i paid for it. I tried it out because noone had tested it, and well, i do my own labor, so i figured it wouldn't be too bad if it turned out bad, and i figured i'd be the test dummy on this one... bad idea... 400 miles after i put it in, babying it all the while, a good hard shift into second would slip the clutch... only tried this twice, and figured i'd let it work out a while. another 400 miles later, i could get second to chirp. I'm sorry, but 800 miles should be more than enough to get that clutch to bed completely, no slipping into whatever gear while i'm running it hard. Either way, i was at the dragstrip the other week, warm up the tires, burnout into second gear to clean off the tires and get them to hook well (i've got traction problems... need drag radials) All was well and ready for the run... first and second sounded and felt like the clutch was being slipped out by a pro.. except my foot was completely off the pedal... oh well, slipped my way to a 14.27, i was exstatic to say the least. Took it nice and easy through the pits, clutched a lot, didn't let it slip hardly at all. Sat the car for a few minutes while i tightened my alt. belt (the belt i had my old man pick up for me keeps squealling like a banshee) my next couple of runs went well, but not as well as that one. My best run of the night was as the timeslip below shows, a 14.24 to a riced out civic's 17.48. All after him talking crap on my white hood, and my telling him it was my anti-rice campaign due to my hatred of badly done civics like the one he was driving...and he said his car could take mine any day... yup...no...

Anyway, i've said enough, i've gotta pretend to work yet today... this working on a Saturday thing is for the birds...
