Well i just drove 4hrs a month ago to get my Z from jersy. Yes only way your gonna get the title is to pay in full, the owner might not give it to you until the check clears. I just put my plates from my other car and drove it backcarefully 4hrs back home. What I would do is ask the seller to give you the car and when the check clears to send you the title in the mail. There is a few other ways to do it but its gonna be a pain the butt any other way. All my friends have done the same. If for some reason you get pulled over just tell the cop you just bought the car and show him the paper work and tell him you had no other way. But make sure you get insurance when you get the car call in a day before or when you get to his house. Keep the transaction# of the insurance policy with you in the car for the ride home.
