Message If I was any good with a violin I would play it for you to be certain. If it's any consolation, mine has not moved in months either. I took it on a dirt road with my niece and wanted to show off a bit. Came to a turn-around point and wanted to break the tires loose on the dirt so I shift to drive and pound the accelerator. Well, I assume the issue was originally with line pressure not buildng too fast in drive, but it would always take a few seconds to begin forward momentum when first shifted into drive. Since I had the RPM's up nice and high, when everything caught up, the rear wheels chirped and I felt a nice THUNK and the drive gear promptly threw in the towel.

Works fine in all other gears and after having read the TSB on that tranny, I am willing to bet it's the snap ring holding the forward clutch assembly that has popped out of it's groove. Since I am staying with my brother and he has no garage space, I have no place to tear into the tranny to fix it and I am hardly what you could call wealthy, so I am not about to bring it to nissan anytime soon. It has given me lots of opportunity to mess up other stuff though! gotta love all the corrosion I found on every connector under the hood! lol
