Years ago, before I owned a Z, I drove an astro van, yes, an astro van. Any way, I was on route 7 in VA and was checking out this gold Z31 which was traveling in the fast lane. I was in the slow lane about five car lengths back from the Z when this black VW comes up, probably doing 95 mph and weaves in between us. Just as this happens, I mean the split second that the Z and the VW were neck and neck, we come up on this speed trap set up in the island. So the VW, now directly in front of me in the slow lane, slams on the brakes and we're all now doing about 60 mph. I look back and sure enough, here comes the trooper. So which car does the trooper pull over? You guessed it, the 300zx. I wanted to pull over and explain the circumstances, but I had a couple of cases of liquor in the back with, lets just say, non-va tax stickers and didn't want to take any chances. Well, is this story relevant? Does it offer advice? maybe not, but it does happen and the most you can do is like IslandView recommended, go to court, don't give them any lip and also, in case the cop doesn't, mention that it was foggy and rainy which will back up your case of line of sight.
