| Insurance companies do absolutely everything they can to preserve their bottom line with no regard whatsoever to business ethics. How are the insurance companies not responsible for that? A good friend of mine was sued by a family member for personal injury on said friends property. Said friend hired a lawyer out of her own pocket, and spent the next 3 years fighting in court and eventually won the case, thus saving her insurance company millions of dollars. The insurance company then blacklisted said friend, and now she cannot get homeowners insurance in any state, with any insurance company. Why? Because a family member tried to make a claim that never panned out. That's complete bullshit. Your claim that insurance companies are only doing what every other business would do does not give them ethical immunity.
