Legos, Tinker Toyz & Lincoln Logz. I really started my modding / tinkering on the little electric slot cars, whatever they're called, I remember 7 or 8 years old, I'd start cutting the bodies up with a hot pin over the stove and changing their shapes. Bigger tires / wheels would make them go faster. I started into things mechanical at 10 - 11. Minibikes and then motorcycles. Even today, if I own something that quits working, my attitude is that it doesn't work, it's basically trash, so I might as well dig into it and figure it out. Most of the time, I end up fixing things instead of replacing them. I've kept washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, microwaves and computers going well beyond their intended obsolesence, (oh, and cars too). I am a relative tard when it comes to I/C's tho.
