Message After many false starts and set backs for one reason or another the rebuild has begun. Since so many, myself include of course or I would not be posting , like progress posts here goes the first...

Step 1: Called Coz about 2 weeks ago to order a boatload, make that a BARGELOAD, of parts.

Step 2: Drop off this week at the body shop, total hours is going to be 120+ to get all the paint and body work done.

Step 3: After get back from paint, etc. install all the other stuff... Hope to be done by second week of August with everything. Fingers crossed....

Synopsis of items to be done

First paint/body
------------------------------------------------------------
-Complete paint job. They are removing everything, including the rear hatch, fascia (it is on in one of the pictures to test fit), rear bumper, hood, front and rear glass, etc. EVERYTHING is coming off prior to paint. Going with OEM color, Super White and color sanded. Don't want any orange peel. Even painting both sides of the hood.
-New Stillen urethane rear spoiler. Bought it of a tt.net member around 4 months ago.
-Shaving the antenna, rear wiper and washer nozzles on the hood. Found some very stealthy wiper arm washers to attach later instead. Considering putting XM radio antenna where the rear glass washer nozzles are.
-Smoothing out the welds on the door sills, thanks CollegeBoy for this idea!
-Painting roof areas in front and behind the T-Tops black
-Install all new trim (KurumaZ via Coz)
-New fender well splash guards and both under engine ones
-All new door and front/rear window rubber
-New underhood insulation
-New JSpec center, converted by Gonzer, illuminated red 300ZX
-Stillen side skirts and door fillers, not the ones with the air scoops.
-Rear clear side markers. Trying to decide to make them illuminated with red LED's.. Whatcha think?
-Numerous engine parts to be powder coated, pretty much all in black (including the parts currently red). Plenum will be done in Ferrari red crinkle. Got lucky, one of my Dad's best friend is Amish and owns a PC shop. He is going to do the entire lot for $100+ cost of the powder itself.

Interior (ImportsExtreme.com) This will not be completed until after paint work is done for the obvious reasons...
------------------------------------------------------------
-New seats, all in black leather w/red stitching, with center portions of seats perforated
-All new trim in black novasuede
-Steering wheel and e-brake recovered as well
-Dynamat trunk (completed), doors, hatch and other areas after paint is done.

Mechanical/etc. (parts on the way, install to be done after paint done). All parts by way of... Yes! The "Cozmeister!"
------------------------------------------------------------
-Stillen sway bars
-Hard pipes, chromed with black rubber
-Adjustable upper arms front and rear
-Eibach springs
-Adjustable sway bar end links
-Split DP's and SS test pipes
-LeaderGears.com (great guy that Mark!) 4.10 rear gears
-Upgraded AT valve body and solenoids
AND tons of other misc stuff!

On to the pics...

WOW! Is it crazy or what how much dirt and crud gets under the spoilers? The old one was a SPONGE! Incredible how much it weighed, must have been holding a few gallons of H20

Test fit of new Stillen spoiler.. Sure glad it is urethane!

Crazy.. see the Chevy Beretta in the background? UGH! Lambo doors on it.. :P

WOW! See alll the magic marker? Those are dings and such. They were all over the car and frankly I could maybe find 50% of the number they did. Guy had a keen eye!

Test fit of the JSPec fascia...

SOON to be totally transformed!

Dynamat has begun.. Sheesh putting this stuff in is time consuming and expensive! Took two 'door kits' @$90 each to do the trunk. Must have cut myself 1/2 dozen times on the stuff in the process too.

Once completed I will have officially gone well over what I paid for the Z in upgrades, paint, etc. And not a regret!

Weirdness, one of the guys at the shop had just bought this week at auction a 1993 NA at an auction, 71k miles, bad paint job. Other than that in pretty decent shape, if you do not count the hydrolocked motor.

Thanks for all the help, ideas, etc. to one and all at TT.net!
