Subject	Now I know why it is recommended to change the oil pump

Message	I have no idea why my oil pump broke into a bounch of pieces? My car stopped having oil pressure and no oil was going through the filter or anything. I figured it would be the oil pump since I have heard of people recommending changing them. It think that the pump froze and when the cranked turned it cracked the gears on the inside. That is just what I think but I really dont know what happened. Here are pictures to show. You can see the gears cracked and also the oil pump housing cracked also. Any ideas why?
