Stroker kits posted by ZisLuv on September 01, 2005 at 09:43 PM

with a friend that brought a Paeco kit for Mike Smith and Clark Steppler to check out and see what they thought about it. Their thinking was that since it is a stroker kit based on WELDING to create the extra stroke, it's a risky endeavor. The stock cranks' journals are super high pressure compressed by the factory to increase their strength (some process I can't even begin to explain). Paeco welds over that compression area on the journals (including the mains), thus negating the strengthening of the journals with the welding process. Mike was sceptical about it, and Clark was adamant that it would fail on a high HP application. I asked him if it was his car would he install the kit and he said, "no way". Do what you want with the info, just passing it on from two pretty knowledgeable folks in the z world. Take care, Mark
