Message Over the weekend I went down to Indy Truck Bash at Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP) with the intentions of just hanging out, doing alot of partying, and running the car down the track a few times for fun runs.

Friday they were calling for rain, and around the time I showed up to tech I started feeling some sprinkles on my neck, but luckily within 15 minutes or so it had all passed and was heading south. Ambient temps were around 90 degrees or so, I have no idea what the track temps/altitude was. I put some race gas in the car for added safety, and drove it around a bit so that I could make some passes. My first pass down the track was rediculous....I had bolted on a few new parts (Doolz, Stillen IC's) and the addition of those+some race fuel equaled me seeing 10.0 on the Wideband. The car was cutting out, so I just rolled down the track. I went back to the Zemulator and made some changes (drastic ones at that) and went down the track at 11:20 or so. I clicked off an 11.85@117mph with a 1.704 60Ft.

I kept going back and making passes on the same tune, because I couldnt see much of what the wideband was doing, but it looked pretty stable. I took some pressure out of the rear (running MT ET Streets) and finished up with 12psi in them. My best pass of the day was an 11.59@118.59mph with a 1.658 Foot!!!!! Here is the timeslip

Satisfied with my runs, i wrapped it up around 4:30. A fellow TT owner joined me at the car show. He wanted to do some drag racing but had never done it before, so we went down the track a few times (they were allowing passengers over 14.0) He has a 96 thats pretty stock, so I figured we wouldnt hit the mark. After some coaching I got him to run a 14.2 or so. He then decided he wanted me to take it down the track. I bested a 14.01 (probably a good thing) in his car.

Moving onto saturday, they were calling for more rain, fortunately for me, it all passed AGAIN! Saturday was the actual racing classes that they were having. I got put in with a couple of nice cars. Ther was a single turbo supra, fd R1 RX7, the 96TT, a gtp, and a VG30DET 240SX!!! This car actually scared me a bit. We're running the same motors yet he is way lighter! Here's what it looked like, soooo clean!

There were a few practice runs before we qualified. I was running pretty consistent 11.7's cutting great lights (they were running the pro-tree all day)

Qualifying came (we got 2 runs) My first qualifying run I ran an 11.7@120. I was pretty damn excited because that was the first time I've trapped 120. Things were looking up. The only thing that worried me was the VG30DET 240sx was running 11.7's as well.

Moving onto the 2nd round of qualifying, I got a bit jittery because me and the 240 got paired up for our 2nd round qualifying. Coming up to the light I cut a sweet .106 light on the pro-tree and ended up running a 11.579@121.15mph!!! I was incredibly happy the way the car was running, not to mention running that gave me the #1 spot on the qualifying list. The supra was running low 12's and the rx7 was running high 13's.

They gave us an hour so cooldown time and then the eliminations began. I was paired up with the slowest qualifier. It was a GTP with quite a bit done to it. I was really just needed to cut a good light and make it down the track. Getting down the track into about 3rd gear i noticed the car was cutting out on me. Knowing the gas light had just turned on i figured it was time for some more fuel. Luckily in the next run it solved the issue.

Since I was the #1 qualifier I received a bye into the finals. That meant I would be facing the VG30DET 240sx. I had been watching him run all day and he was running pretty consistently. His semi-final pass he made an 11.6 run and I began to worry a little. Fortunately for me, I had been watching his reaction times and they were typically in the .3 range. I had been cutting awesome lights all day, so I knew that If i could get him out of the whole, I could probably have the race. We lined up and both did awesome burnouts. I was loving the nissan vs nissan comradere we had going on. We both looked at eachother and gave the thumbs up.

Once again my reaction time held up and i cut a .105 to his .342 and it was over from there. Our cars are VERY similar, as we were both running 1.8 60foots that round. Not the best by far from my car, but it was hot out and our rounds were right in succession with basically no cool down time. I won 1st place with a 11.916@119 compared to his 12.043@123mph

Because of video equipment malfunction I didnt get a good video of the final round :(

I talked with him between some of the races, and after our race. Pretty nice guy, I guess he is local. I invited him to check our site out as well.

To top my victory off I was awarded 500 bucks from the track for winning the Turbo 6 class, and im even more excited I made arnels Z32 list!

Thanks for sharing guys, PeaZe
