Message Here are my pics from the Zcon 05 Car Show at Drivers Village in Syracuse, NY. I have included some pics of my car as well as most of the Z32's that were at the show.
I didn't resize the the pics of my car cause I think they came out great.

It was great to show inside for a change. However having to wait 3 hours the night before the show to get the car into the venue left alot to be desired. All and all it was a great show.

The first pics are of my car. I put about 22 hours into the prep of the car for the Zcon show. This included hours before trailering the car to the event and the Mon and Tues nights before the show.

The prep included pulling all 4 wheels and polishing the HRE's, cleaning the suspension, all new trunk interior panels (thanks Coz) and a ton of other stuff including clay, polish, wax, to the exterior.

Unfortunately, the Z gods were not smiling down upon me at this event. I scored less than 280 points to make it to the second round of ZCCA judging for the Gold Cup. All and all it was a major disappointment. I did learn a valuable lesson though. I will NOT be doing any more ZCCA judged shows. I should have learned my lesson at Zcon 2003. I will continue to participate in ZCCA shows as long as they have Peoples Choice judging. I feel its better to leave the results to the masses as opposed to judges who have their own agendas and internal politics.

In my opinion, the current ZCCA style of judging is a diaster and needs a major revamp. Unfortuneately I don't see it moving in any direction for change. There is no consistency of scoring among judges or judges who have any type of consistent training in judging and what to take deductions for. For the second convention in a row I watched a ZCCA judge with a cigar in his mouth leaning over my engine baby. So much for "Concours de Elegance".
I just find it ironic that in 2003 I was able to score 291 points and to have improved on the car in 2 years only to score less. Some inquires were made as to why my car did not make the second round. The inquires only lead to quotes "The scores stand for Pats car". Whatever that means (shoulder shrug)

I think the ZCCA would get the message or see a trend when you have approximately 72 cars in the ZCCA portion and the same amount (70) in the Peoples Choice. I see a trend here where people are becoming frustrated with the judging and would rather just go to the show, enjoy themselves, and not be worried about having their car judged by a inconsistent system.

Anyway..enough babbling. I just wanted to say thanks to all of my tt.net brethen who gave me support at the tt.net dinner (Spee, Bernie, Nixit, Greg, Damon, Patrick, Kaz, Milo). You guys are the best.
