ects. :) : Okay, so this thing is finally installed. Thanks to everyone who helped out translating for me! I ended up getting hand-written instructions from HKS on most of the manual but the majority was done from people here =) : Anyway, what IS the C.A.M.P.? Well, it's like a Techtom in that it reads a multitude of specs from the ECU directly. However the CAMP has a few more big features. For one, it data logs internally as well as through a data cable to a laptop. Two, it's fully graphical with digital/analog/graphing capabilities. Three, it's customizable in that you can upload photos/backgrounds/anything to use as backgrounds, etc. Four, it's fully stackable by adding on HKS gauges of other sorts (EGT, Boost, etc). : One of the things I wasn't expecting was the ps (horsepower) measurements it does. Much like the G-tech and other gauges, this one probably isn't TOO accurate. It has you type in the car's stats and stuff and then make a few passes. Even if that's off, it also measures the car's "Friction". What I mean is how much your car's tires, wind resistance, etc effect the car's speed. You throw it into neutral for 15 seconds after getting it up to about 60mph on a flat surface and it measures it. Not much use that I can see...but strangely cool. The downsides are that A) you have to have a monitor already for it to use otherwise spending the money for a monitor PLUS the CAMP is not worth it for most. The CAMP itself is a little over $400. The other downside is that the speedo is in kilometers/hour and not MPH. This was not a concern of mine because I have a separate gauge for this other than factory. Also, they don't sell the junction box for added HKS gauges here, but it can be found in Japan for about $30 more. This thing is NOT for everyone...I'm a gadget nut and I wanted to justify the damn Alpine IVA-C800 for something more than video games, movies and a good show at an event. I don't see many people getting this unless you A) already have lots of HKS gauges or B) have money to blow. : Anyway, enough stalling. Here's some MPEGs of it in action. As if it's not hard enough to get a digital camera to work in the dark, I did most of it while moving...so it's not the greatest video, but it works. Play them at full screen on the graph ones to see it. : Intro when you first turn on the car...kinda strange music. : Clickme : Here's the analog gauges. I plan to upload a background image of perhaps some photoshopped Apex gauges with the centers blanked out and lined up. Endless possibilities. : Clickme : Here's the digital set of readouts...very similar to the R34 Skyline's readouts. It's much smoother than the video shows, but it still looks good. I did this in motion so you could see the speedo/fuel cost ones move... : Clickme : Here's a good closeup of the graphing capabilities. ALL of this can be logged for hours and you can see how towards the end I can search through it and get peak stats. Speaking of, EVERYTHING has peak hold capabilities in every menu. Even the trip meter that calculates gas mileage and stuff can show you peaks over time. : Clickme : Here's a pic of the graph choices...you get more with more HKS gauges. : : Here's the customizable X-Y axis graphing you can do. I chose RPM/InjectorCC's for this one. By the way, you can input your car's injector size, cylinders, speed sensor, weight, etc. : Clickme : And finally here is the alarm capabilities. Kinda hard to see all the options, but you can set almost anything and have it go off above/below/never a set of variable numbers you choose. : Clickme : Oh yeah, and here's some of the color options...note the "Card" section where you can stick in a memory card for more stuff or hook up the laptop. : : Anyway, I guess that's it. If you have questions, post them here or research it online. PLEASE don't bombard me with questions about the CAMP unless you've done a search on [ www.google.com ] about it. There's lots of info out there....well not LOTS, but still. Also, if you still want one despite the drawbacks, give Got Rice? a call. He said he can get them :)
