Message I did wet the floor to prevent dust from flying around so I wouldn't have to buff it out later, but I screwed up on the clear coat and didnt turn the exhaust fan I had to max, so I had a lot of clear coat flying around and got stuck on top of the semi drying clearcoat. So I have to wetsand and buff anyways.
If you do it right and seal it good, the only mess you will have is the plastic sheeting, just tear it down and throw it in a bag, along with the tape. My parents already had one those outdoor tent thingys so I basically built it inside the garage and covered it with painters plastic instead of the tarp it includes, but you can also go to home depot and buy some pvc and and all the fittings and custom fit the size.

My Z didnt have any dents and im really a painter, not a bodyman so dents arnt really my thing. But what I did for the small dents on doors, 1/4 panel was just sand them good and fill them with bondo :) I didnt feel like getting a stud gun to pull them out.

If your not sanding all the way to the bare metal then you can get away with no primer. Otherwise spray some primer if you sand to the bare metal. Scuff the paint with 600 also before the basecoat.
