Message	injectors. Courtesy sent the wrong injector o-rings and I bought non-nitrile rubber o-rings instead of waiting for the correct nitrile rubber o-rings to arrive. #3 got hydrolocked w/ fuel once it ate through the o-ring on that cylinder first, turning my #3 rod into a banana, and bending a couple valves. Before I realized the low compression problem, though (car ran fine after putting in the proper o-rings), I pulled the engine the 2nd time to upgrade my wastegate actuators to the HKS units. Back to the low compression... the initial diagnosis was just that the valves are damaged, since #3 was low on compression, but the compression didn't rise when I added oil to the cylinder. So, I pulled the engine for the 3rd time and had the heads rebuilt, thinking that everything was going to be good to go since there were indeed 3 bent valves. But, when I did a compression test after break-in (and had noticed gas getting into the oil, etc.), #3 was still low on compression. So, I pulled the engine for the 4th time, tore down the block, and found the banana rod. I rebuilt the block, drove the car for 5 months, and then the upper timing belt idler pulley stud broke, resulting in the belt going slack and 18 valves getting bent. I had the valves replaced, fortunately didn't need a whole valve job since there weren't all that many miles since the last one, had a mishap w/ reassembly involving not aligning a cam gear properly that kept the car from starting, but finally got it back on the road, and it is currently still running. Enough of a novel for you, Spee? ;-) Rule #1 - There's always a bastard!
