Message Stupid old lady in a minivan made a left across my lane right in front of me at an intersection, giving me no time to stop. Luckily, an off-duty cop was right behind her and saw the whole thing, and gave a statement on my behalf. I found out later in the police report that the old lady claimed (a) I was speeding and (b) I ran a redlight--neither of which were true. I'm still not sure if she made it up to try and put the blame on me, or if she was so senile that she believed it.

Either way, I lucked out, because who are they going to believe? A young guy in a sports car or an old lady in a minivan? None of the other witnesses stopped to help or give a statement other than the cop. I'd have been seriously boned, if not for him.
