Message	to the front of the stock water pump - it would interfere with the radiator/fan. It would also defeat a part of the purpose of using a more efficient impeller wheel for the pump. FWIW, the housing that you see was cast from a pattern that was originally a stock pump housing, modified to produce a mounting face for the electric motor and house the shaft seals. I guess, in that respect, it could be considered fitting my new design onto a stock pump, more/less.
