Message First of all, drive it home gentle. The suggestions of waiting for cooler temps at night and running the heater on full blast are right on point. That will help lower the temps. Obviously watch the guage and if it starts to creep up pull over and give it time to cool off.

There are many things that go into the cooling system. I pretty much replaced them all when I had heating issues. Since you are doing a 60k you are going to address many of them.

I flushed my system, replaced the cooling hoses with Samcos, replaced the radiator with a Koyo, added expensive coolants and water wetter and it still overheated all the time.

We never suspected the water pump because there was obsolutely no leak or dripping coming from that area. I was beginning to get worried it was somehow a problem with the head gasket.

I finally decided to take everything apart and low and behold it was the water pump. What was happening was I had a small leak out of the water pump. Small enough that it didnt drip, it would run down the face of the pump itself. By the time it got to the bottom, the heat of the pump/engine bay was evaporating the water, thus no dripping on the floor.

When looking at the pump, you could see the water lines from where it was dripping down the face. Replaced the pump, never go above 195 with the Koyo and water wetter and that is on 100+ humid Texas days.

Small story that hopefully helps you or others troubleshoot their heating problems.
