| It's entirely possible that the builder's line of work or something similar allowed him to get those engines at a price-break and/or free. Projects like that usually start with some BIG part falling into someone's lap and the lightbulb going off in their heads. But yes, even so, money was spent on the car and making it all work. Then again, it's a show-piece of sorts...to show it can be done and perhaps even to race on the salt-flats (as the ad mentioned was possible). Maybe it could even be on TV for some odd purpose. Anything can happen. At least at that point it's more useful than some of these garbage $50k+ built Zs that do nothing but sit in the garage or get sold for a huge loss.
