Air temp, altitude, humidity, track surface, tires, etc.

It wasn't until recently ( a few years) that some magazines started to list altitude and temp adjusted numbers. In 1990's they did not adjust test results; publish as you get them.

All kidding aside, .5 second could be atributed to something as small as "imperfect" shift.

Never mind that minute difference in performance and find yourself a good deal (based on the car and its condition).
