| why is it that most (if not all) shops that offer rebuilt/remanufactured motors for the FD also recommend modification of the cooling system and porting, etc? It's almost taboo to try to pull any more power out of that car without doing the "suggested" reliability mods. I guess it's not "required", but if it were my car, it would be. Rotaries tend to generate a crazy amount of heat in the first place. A lot of the problem in the early development of the rotary design itself was keeping temps down.
