Message got onto the highway, changed to the middle lane in front of a tractor trailor. i made it safely into the lane and started cruising for a bit. then i saw the craziest thing.

i look at the rearview and the truck is accelerating right at me! he hits me straight from behind and jolted me forward. i immediately put the hazards on. amazingly, he accelerates again and bam! hits me a second time. now i was getting a bit worried of what the heck this guy was doing. i couldn't accelerate out of his way because there were tons of cars in front of me. i look again and his huge grill is coming straight at me and hits me a third time.

i managed to switch lanes and the truck just accelerates passed me. what the heck?! i fumbled for the cell to dial 911, but then the call fails to go through. verizon is so overrated =P i call 3 times and it finally goes through. the whole time i'm tailgating the trailor and telling the 911 operator that this bastard hit me 3 times and is running.

the truck suddently pulls off to the service road. the guy runs out of his truck and starts apologizing. strange. he proceeds to explain to me that he has huge blind spots driving that thing. he also added that since my car was so low, he didn't see it at all in front of him. he thought that he was the one getting hit from the rear and therefore accelerated!

i didn't believe him so i pulled the z in front of his truck and climbed up to the driver seat to take a look myself. holy disappearing act batman. my z was COMPLETELY invisible from his site. no matter how i angled my head to see if i can get a peek, the front of the truck totally overshadowed any traces of my z. damn.

i inspected the damage. my wings west spoiler ended up protecting my z since it protrudes out =/ he ended up being pretty cool about it, and we decided to just deal it ourselves without getting insurance companies involved. so now i either have to live with the damage, get a new wing, or go wingless. hmmm...

so just to let you guys know, those trucks can't see our z's when you are directly in front of them (ie in traffic situations). goodness gracious, i can't even imagine what would have happened if someone panicked and hit the brake in the z while the tractor trailor accelerated from behind. shudder. lesson learned.
