| yesterday i posted about my dying alternator. well i decided to take it to my mechanic who agreed to rebuild my alternator and install it for $280. most thought it was fair so i went with it. while he is taking out the alternator he notices that all of my belts need replacing asap. i took a look at it myself and they really were in bad condition. but he told me that he needs to take out all three belts in order to get to the alternator belt, so i might as well just replace them all. he wanted $120 for belt change and labor. i was hoping to get this done with the 60K service but now it seems like i have to do just the belts first? i would rather have someone else do the 60K maintenance as well. so for $400 he will change my alternator (rebuilt) with 3 drive belts. good course of action? thanks for any input.
