Looks like I blew out my torque converter as well as a few other parts in my tranny. This happened a few months after raising the boost fro 10 to about 17psi. The car is in the shop because its not driveable. They are pulling the tranny tomorrow to get me a final price on the rebuild. Does it make sense to go with a Z1 tranny($1600) or a SpecialtyZ tranny ($2500). I suspect the rebuild is going to cost around 2000 to go back to stock parts. I dont think the tranny shop will warranty the work if they use someone elses tranny? Anyone have any suggestions? I have not factored in shipping costs yet or torque converter, flex plate, etc. Anyone have experience with Z1 or Specialty Z? Does it make much of a diffrence over stock?
