Hello friends of the "ZX" community. this is the first time I've written anything, but I have much to say. I have just returned from Ash powers home, of Ash spec perfomance and tuning. I cannot tell you how much knowledge I have gleaned from a very open minded and innovative individual as Ashley Powers. Talking to him one on one, I never once felt condescended or inferior. He takes the time it takes to answer each and every question I had without any impatience. Some I had were very intuitive(his words), some were very basic. As you extend your "face time" with Ash, it becomes clear that he began with a basic love of the car, and expounded with his innovations for a "better way" to do things in order to make his Z, well... his. This expanded simply by those of us who saw his innovations, and wanted them too. Instead of his saying "no way!"; he said "why not?" so what started as a helping hand, has now become a major dependency for those of us seeking more power that is reliable and electronics that actually work with little or no modification. I was there actually two weekends in a row, and had ample time to watch and work with Ash. There was never a question I asked he couldn't answer, and suggestions I made were taken into consideration as an equal, not a subordinate. It was truely a very positive experience. After the first two hours I was there(I arrived at 8 PM local time) he had done a boost pressure check, found a leak, corrected it, done a compression test, found that the spark plugs I had weren't exactly the right ones( I had brought the correct ones with me) and changed them, and also found why my car was not idling smoothly, and corrected it. From there things just sort of took off , and we found that I had been ripped off by another TT.net member(more on that in another post) and been sold a set of 370 cc injectors as 555 cc injectors in the 555 Nismo box(so they had the "right" part number displayed). I had just finished the entire engine rebuild over a period of 6 months, and with the new progammed EPROM, things were not right. I ended up leaving the car there for a week so he could install the new injectors I had to purchase again, and smooth over a few other wrinkles we found in the initial visit. I returned, and from the time he picked me up at the airport, we didn't stop until late the next afternoon when we had rectified all that was wrong. Along the way I changed a few things in order to incorporate his product designs, and was driving back home with the biggest grin from ear to ear! I whole heartedly encourage anyone who has the want/need and the love to make his/her car "better" to get in touch with Ash; either to pay him a visit online, or to his home/workshop. It is truely worth the price of admission. Not only does his expertise include that of an ever expanding wealth of knowledge on the Z, but if you find your muffler casings cracking and rattling as mine were....no problem...he'll get out his MIG welder to fix that problem too! Need something nickel plated? He has several products that incorporate this into manufacture! I believe there is no problem he can't rectify. The engine on the engine stand in his garage is a work of artistic innovation not yet to be seen or equalled anywhere in the "Z" community. Okay, okay enough. but when you feel this good about someone you first meet, who wants to do a great job for you because he shares the same common denominator as you...you want others to know how good the service is. It is worth every penney. thanks for listening. Painless
