For the first time, someone in a non-Z came over and gave my car
respect while we were waiting at the gas pumps. He was driving a very
nice E 420, but walked over with obvious affection and awe for the Z. He made a trip around the Z, said, "Mm, twin turbo..." when he got to the
back, then told me he used to have a 280 years ago, and when this one
came out, he remembers what a sensation it was. Said his wife wants a
Jag, but he'd really like to have a Z. I showed him around; he "Oof!"-ed
appreciatively at the tightly-packed engine bay. Thanked me for showing
him, and glanced back wistfully several times on his way to his own car.
And yes, he was looking at the Z, not me. ;-)
