OK, today I went to a car dealership to check out a car for a member on here (viewing my post history will reveal the car and all). I decided to take it for a spin around the block instead of to my house where I was going to do compression, boost leak test, full ecu dignostic and pictures of all documented work. Well, I didn't really realize I was as far as I was ( I didn't mind the trip, stayed away from I-4 so it was pretty peaceful). I took the car down colonial, traffic, so no boost checks yet. I turn around and there was no traffic so I gave it some gas (this is where I envy you turbo guys). BOOST!!! :) I lost concentration, I wasn't even looking at the boost gauge. I finally came to my sense and started checking things out. Boost gauge went half way. I'm thinking thats about 7, but it has 121xxx miles on the car so it could be the stock 9. I asked the people at the dealership upon returning the car if they would mind me doing an ecu diagnostics. First words out of their mouth were, "what's that" (gf and I chuckled). I explained that it would test all the sensors in the engine. They were like, "well the check engine light doesn't come on." I explained that not all problems cause the check engine light to come on. They said, "sure, we don't care." They sent their "special" son to observe me doing it. Pull off the wood panel and run the diagnostics. Code 34. The only reason I knew what code 34 was because I was involved in a discussion earlier this week that had it. Not being a turbo guy, I could never toss the detonation sensor. Not good sign, so just in case were looking over the car, here's the lovely report jotted down by the sexy lady in my sig pic. Mechanical problems: code 34. Most important thing wrong. (note: only code) shakes when braking at all speeds (tension rods?) safety boost (hence why gauge was reading 7, I knew that since the ecu code) no clutch booster, not sure if this was on the 95's Clutch is leaving (sucks) A/C sucks. Mine blows harder and colder at 75 degrees than this car at 60 degrees. Every locking mechanism in the car sucks. All handles are weak. Hood latch and hood hinges are rusted. Brakes not fantastic. Most likely needs 120K done, just by appearance of the car. It wasn't properly maintained at all. Interior: Suede ripped everywhere Toneau cover doesn't retract all the way passenger seat cracked everywhere, driver's side is worse. all pleather is shot. t-top locks and plastic all shot. tan interior doesn't match in places (ie dash vs door panels) Passenger air vent in door jam is detatched after market alarm holes in center console, just hanging around in engine bay. Not sure if rear speakers worked, didn't test factory cd player. No cigarette lighter. Glove box cloth MIA Exterior: Rust, no bubbles, but spots clear coat sucks EVERYWHERE car was never waxed and kept outside dents and dings everywhere Multiple scratches Weather striping and mouldings all bad. can see metal and was rusted possible water leak through back glass cracked 3rd brake light Major Concerns: Blood In Car!!! (on rug, spatters on roof) (too much CSI) Dark past Possible owned by a smoker, intoxicating scent when you first sit. Didn't check O2 sensors (my bad) Pic probably fake in ad, didn't write down VIN number to check to see if it matched on-line ad. Yay: Aftermarket exhaust sounds nice and quiet (quieter than mine) Wheels look nice and shiny, probably rechromed Possible no front end colisions. Purpose of this post... Stay away I can't believe they want $12,900 for the car.

Funny thing is my girlfriend says I'm too fast. Go figure ~jonnyz (DC) |
