| An FYI for you guys that order tires mail order and have them mounted. Most tire places from the corner gas station to the local Goodyear have a tire machine (tire changer), but not all these machines are designed to install low profile tires on the rims. The older the machine is the more likely rim damage will occur. When I had mine mounted I did not know this, but luckily the tire installer did. He told me their store did not have the correct equipment to installed the stiff low profile tires and sent me to one of their other stores that did. I was told if the correct machine is not used, and the installer did not know better, he could very easily bend the rim on the outside and possibly damage the center hub. I'm betting the rim is bent inward (downward when mounted on the tire machine) caused by the pneumatic clamp catching on the lip of the rim.
