Message No sales person, sale literature or Nissan publication touted the "weight savings" of a slick top. It was the entry level, base model (didn't have Bose either I might add), 5 speed, cloth, manual seats, no expensive glass roof, and base model engine.

PS - they DO have the weight in the trunk, it's there to counter balance the wiper motor and to give the hatch a solid "feel" when you close it.

Weight savings and "track use" etc is something that TTnet people like to list as a "bonus" for a slick top, but in the world of car prices, market value and option packages the slick top is the base model Z32 and nothing more.
