Message It is much harder to prove that an aftermarket setup is "better" than what was designed for the car.

I choose to run 18's in back because 1)they came with the car and 2) I like how they look.

However, I don't claim that they are better performance wise than 16s. This is probably also something where driver preference would come into play. Some drivers probably like more of a sidewall than others, etc.

I just don't like it when people make blanket statements about something being "better" without backing it up with anything meaningful. Yes, almost any quality setup you can put on the car will be close enough to stock that it won't mess anything up, but no, that doesn't mean a statement like "18 inch wheels are better than 17 inch wheels for the track" is necessarily true.

I am not an engineer by trade either. I don't really know anything about this stuff. My comment was only meant to point out the fact that the people who came up with the design could probably make the claims that some of us are making, and actually back them up with real facts rather than speculation.

Besides, ZBlacktt really pissed me off.

Later,
Matt
