I would like to make a couple more points regarding this whole issue. First I think the racers who are in the stock class should really decide if Charles’ world record run of 11.601 should count in the stock class. It shouldn’t be the non-racers of tt.net (which includes me) who you should be listening to and making your decision from. It really should be the guys in the stock class. And for the record some of the fastest guys in the stock class were at the event and watched the run. The reason being is the rule you stated your decision on wasn’t posted, so nobody knew it was going to be an issue, so it’s only fare that since the rule wasn’t known at time, but has now been brought to light, it should be decided by the people upon which the rule and decision affects. I can tell you as soon as Charles returned to the pits, people were saying that it looks to be a world record, without even seeing the time slip; it was only confirmed once the actual slip was seen moments later. I believe the whole thing is on video tape including the action in the pits after the run. I haven’t seen the run on tape but the tape might be evidence that NOS wasn’t used as you would see the purge if it was used. At the least the issue should be decided by the racers of the stock class and it might be suggested that Charles can’t post in any other classes for the rest of the year and he can’t continue to post in the stock class unless he removes the NOS system from the car. This way his world record run would count, but he wouldn’t be able to continue to beat his own record, now that the rule has been stated and is known by all. This would put the decision in the hands of those who stand something to loose and give credit to those who deserve credit without giving that person an undo advantage in the future. Regardless of the final outcome, the pass should be in the record books as a first ever!!!
