Message the only chance that could happen is if you were grinding gears from doing some ricer power shifting, and even then, your syncros would be shot.

Shock proof is nice stuff. It smokes good when it vents out the overflow and hits your hot exhaust ($nv).

Do me a favor. Buy a magnetic tranny plug. Install shock proof or regular redline tranny fluid. Drive 100 miles. Drain the fluid and inspect the contents of the fluid for shrapnel. Inspect the plug as well. You are looking for the color of the material, if any exists.

Also, are you sure it's not your throw out bearing?
Does the sound go away when the clutch is pushed in?
Does it make sound under power?
Does it make sound under coasting?
Does it make sound at mid throttle?
Does it make sound under coasting with the clutch in?

These are all important questions you need to ask yourself before ripping into the dealership. I'd say a lot of bad diagnostics are the result of bad information from the customer. Then again, most dealerships don't even want to talk to their customers.
