FrOm the article in SCC:"and driveability problems from the new JDM front end causing turbulence in the mass airflow meter." ALSO: "During that January test we also tried making some impressive quarter-mile times, but were thwarted on the big end by a mean misfire caused by air turbulence blowing across our filters. This turbulence confused our hotwire Mass Airflow Meter (MAF). This was only a minor problem on the dyno, but it was disastrous at more than 100 mph. We had a friend fabricate a carbon-fiber airbox to protect our JWT Twin POP filters from a direct air blast and subsequent MAF turbulence." I have yet to hear any Z owners complain of this happening. I'm sure there are quite a few Z's running around with J-SPEC fronts and dual-pops installed, without the issues mentioned in this article. Is he running a dual MAF setup? The reason this worries me is with my custom setup the intakes are re-located to the sidemount position. I almost certainly will be experiencing much more "turbulence blowing across my filters" with the intakes setup in the sidemount positon. Is this something I should be concerned about? Any insight will be geatly appreciated
