Message LTL Freight companies typically do not like to deliver anything to a residential address. If they do, they typically charge anywhere between $50-$150 extra just to deliver to a residence then ANOTHER $50-$150 to use a truck with a liftgate. Since we ship such a massive amount we negotiate free residential delivery with the shipping companies we use.

In some cases the shipping company has no liftgate equiped trucks available and will not deliver to a residence. In cases such as yourself where they do not have a large enough liftgate, the most cost effective method in my experience is to use a car dolly and take it to the local port(as I said on the phone). Uhaul rents car dollies around here for $40 all day.

Just curious who was the delivery company that was used? R+L Carriers, Conway, or Overnite?
