| Does anyone have experience with making their own stainless steel brake lines. This includes bending, flaring and terminating the lines. So far, I have purchased the lesser of the expensive 45degree flare tools. This is the butterfly claming style. I have purchased roughly 5 feet of brake line and fittings. I can bend the line expertly. They look fantastic, with perfect single radius arcs to each bend. However, I cannot do a proper Double Flare to save my life. Infact, single flares are difficult, as the flare with tear. I have considered buying the pre terminated brake lines in the lengths I need, however, I need to mix and match fittings on some of the line (metric and sae). Obviously, these are completely unavailable. I have googled to my hearts content, and there seems to be a vast void of information in this area. I have emailed a company that manufactures lines, but they charge $5.oo per line setup charge, then $5.oo a foot, and $5.oo per fitting. This application will require atleast 7 lines and probably 10 feet. Therefore, this will get rather expensive really quickly. Any comments or questions are welcomed. Any. Even chromalusion.
